What sets Cursora apart

  • Of the plugins compared here, only Cursora shows your image as the browser’s own cursor – drawn by the browser, without JavaScript, so it moves exactly with the mouse.
  • Respects reduced motion (like Ultimate Cursor) and switches back to the system pointer in contrast mode – the only plugin here where this is confirmed.
  • No locked features in the free version: hover image, click point and per-page switch included. Pro adds extra features as a separate plugin.

When another plugin fits better

  • You want ready-made cursor shapes and effects instead of your own image: Ultimate Cursor and FaeCursor come with many built-in shapes and animations.
  • You want a lifetime license or a one-time purchase: Ultimate Cursor, FaeCursor and CursorFlex offer lifetime licenses, WP Custom Cursors is a one-time CodeCanyon purchase; Cursora Pro is sold per year.
  • You only need a simple dot-and-ring effect: CursorFlex focuses on exactly that.
  • You want to limit the cursor to one area of a page by CSS selector: WP Custom Cursors can do that.
